Magna Town Council—Starr Campbell (Chair): The Magna Town Council has challenged the Kearns Community Council to a 1 yr Fitness Challenge. The Kearns Council has agreed to the challenge. More information to follow.
Councilmember Brennan arrives 6:42.

- Follow-up on calls (w assigned case #) on-line.
Community Dev. Corp—Lillian Hernandez-Program Coordinator
- In Sept. we will have‘open house’ energy efficient home—5329 Norwest Ave.
- Will have training classes—activities—dances—treats—handouts.
- We have completed eighteen (18) homes in Kearns alone.
UPD—Captain Fassett
- Aug 5, Night-Out-Against-Crime.
- Aug 6, Guns & Hoses softball game. Pizza eating contest Big Papa’s 4pm.
- One month anniversary of Midvale merger with UPD.
- Introduced Lt Kim Burgon.
UFA---Asst Chief Haakenson
- Twelve (12) new employees involved in six (6) week recruit training course.
- With merger, County now has three (3) Hazmat teams in the valley.
Kearns Youth Council (KYC)—Samantha Butterfield
- Attending Youth Citizen Youth Academy
- Delivered a breakdown of their budget to the Councilmember Taylor (treasurer).

Redistricting---move to Councilmember Snow’s report.
Committee Reports:
Community Involvement—Chair Larsen
- Pam Todd is recognized by Utah State Historical Society for her
- Hands out budget breakdown for Hometown Night and asks for an extra $2000 for food vendor.
- Motion (Councilmember Markus/seconded) to approve $2000.00 for Hometown Night (6) yes (0) no (1) abst---Passed.
- Reminder—Friday 5th, 6 pm at Olympic Oval is the annual Nite-Out-Against-Crime event.
- Saturday 6th, Guns & Hoses—UPD against UFA softball game at KHS stadium—6pm.
- Friday 12th, Kearns Hometown Night 6pm at Olympic Oval—Pirates theme.
- Saturday 13th, Kearns Parade, 9am, starts at Kearns HS goes down 5400S. to 4000W.
- Saturday 13th, F-W&I at KOPFC & Olympic Oval--starts at 12:00 (noon), fireworks at 10pm.
Volunteers needed to help clean-up 6:30am on Sunday.
Unfinished Business:
Fireworks-Law—Greg Schulz—From ACCT meeting-they would like Community Councils feedback on the new law. From KCC main issue is to limit days of the month.
Other---Chair Larsen informs council that Jill Young will stay on until a replacement is located. Interviews will be at the Executive Mtg., Aug 16th.
New Business;
Treasurer—Councilmember Taylor
- Check request—From Valley Journal for $1311.64 –invoice.
- Deposited County check for $8063.00 on 2 August.
- Councilmember Markus hands over receipt for bottle water--$123.60 for upcoming events.
Cannon Memorial—discussion moved to Executive Mtg.
