The KCC partnered with the Taste of Kearns planning committee to continue this tradition and provided funding for a very successful event.
We also partnered with Salt Lake County Youth Services as a financial sponsor for the Kearns Junior High After-School special theatrical production of Switch, an award winning student production, held at Capitol Theater. We are very pleased with the talented group of students involved and support the expansion of this program to other junior high schools in our area to better assist our youth.
Granite School District Division Proposal
Another very serious issue we are focused on is the proposal to allow cities to create their own school districts. This would split the Jordan and Granite Districts in a way that we believe to be detrimental to the Township of Kearns and its children. Please read the KCC Joint Resolution published in the August newsletter. It has been delivered to the Salt Lake County Council and we encourage you to call them and express your feelings on this issue.
