Roll Call Of Members---Eight council members in
attendance, one excused, as listed above.
Minutes---Executive and public
minutes for 2-6-07 were reviewed and approved as corrected in executive
meeting.
Correspondence Folder---Reviewed by council
members.
Sheriff Report---Deputy Arlan Bennett gave
an explanation that the DABC could file as many as 5 charges on Los Coyotes,
but they are still pending. Debby
reported to Deputy Bennett on graffiti.
ACCT---Kathy reported that the
council has not paid their dues yet to ACCT.
Explained what the volunteer contract from the county was. Kathy reported that Kara Travino went over what
legislative bills the county was looking at supporting. SB208-support, SB64-opposed, SB130—opposed,
HB233—opposed, HB362—opposed.
Committee Reports---Planning & Zoning---Chuck asked Kevin to take over planning and
zoning for 2007. Kevin agreed. Conditional use permit asked for by Dale
Price for a paint ball center. Located
at 4140 West 5415 South, Kearns, file# 23438.
***Motion by Chuck to approve their permit. 2nd by Sam.
Chuck called for vote. 7 yes, 0
no, motion passed.
Unfinished Business—Street Lights---Chuck reported that the county has approved 15 new
streetlights to be put in Kearns. Mr.
DeLamare and Mr. Smeltzer have been instrumental in this process. Chuck will put map of where they will be
placed in upcoming KCC newsletter.
New Business---Special Funding---Ryan
Perry from County Councilman Michael Jensen office reported that the amount of
this funding has been done by population and that this money has been
“loosened” up to pay for non-county events as well as county.
Citizen Input---Resident Ruby Martinez,
5321 S. 5420 W., said she would like to see a community garden in Kearns. Claudia Nabos stated that her group would be
doing a botanical formal garden as well as a children’s working garden in the
near future.
