Call To Order---Chuck McDowell, Chairman

Roll Call Of Members---Nine members in
attendance.
Minutes---In executive meeting the
executive minutes for 2-20-07 were tabled till
4-17-07 meeting. Executive and public minutes were approved as corrected for
3-20-07 and minutes for workshop on 3-17-07 were approved.
Sheriff Report---Tabled to 4-17-07
meeting.
United Fire Authority Report---Battalion Chief Lowell
Mikolash stated they would be hiring new fire fighters at all stations overall
in the valley. They have just hired 25
to date. West Battalion number is
824-3723 and main number is 743-7200.
Stated that Kearns now has a premier hazmat team.
Code Enforcement---Tabled to 4-17-07
meeting.
Committee Reports---Planning & Zoning---Kevin reported that the Pentecostal Church
was in attendance to answer questions regarding their request to build at 4590
West and 6200 South. They provided an
updated site plan for council review. ***Motion by Kevin to approve
conditional use permit. 2nd
by Alan. Chuck called for vote. 9 yes, 0 no, motion passed. Car
Wash Expansion---Kevin also reported that the gas station on 40th
West and 4600 South across from KFC would like to add on a room for storage by
their car wash. No paperwork as
yet. Treasurers Report---TJ reported that the first quarter has ended
and the FOC will be meeting on 4-19-07 at the Tennis Center, 4:00 PM, to review
quarter. Also reported that the council
special funding from SL County was $32,865.00 and the administrative funding
was $2820.00. Public Safety---Sam reported she has been talking with the KCPA
regarding the End Graf project.
Suggested the council approve some funding for supplies for this
project. Library & Education---Kathy reported that Susan Spicer from the
Library would be writing and article for the council newsletter.
Unfinished Business---Andrea Boone, Red Cross, reported on what the Red Cross has to
offer and she can be reached at 969-5407 or by email at saablister1@aol.com Neighborhood
Pride---Claudia Nabos reported that her group will be planting a tree at
the cannon for Arbor Day and they would like to plant trees along the Blvd at
5415 South. Does have the manpower to
do so. Asked the council to sponsor
this effort with $300.00. Kathy
suggested that Claudia come up with a plan she can present to the council at
the 4-17-07 meeting regarding this. Claudia
agreed and also stated that the Hoffman Heights Neighborhood Assoc. would be
doing clean up on the South side of Northwest Avenue by the railroad tracks for
Neighborhood Pride Day on 4-28-07 along with the tree planting.
New Business---***Motion by Sam to give KCPA $250.00
for supplies for the End
Graf
project. Chuck suggested that Sam by
the supplies so the council would have the receipts. 2nd by Charles.
Chuck called for vote. 9 votes
yes, 0 votes no, motion passed. Sam
will purchase supplies and take to KCPA for the graffiti clean up. ***
Motion by Al that the council pay his parliamentarian dues of $67.00. 2nd by Kathy. Chuck called for vote. 8 votes yes, 0 votes no, motion passed. Al also nominated Claudia Nabos to fill
vacancy in FOC. Along with others these
nominations will be reviewed and interviewed at the 4-17-07 meeting.
Citizen Input---David Young introduced
himself to the council. He is the new
director for the Kearns Recreation Center.
Stacee Adams, SL County stated that the feasibility study is going well.
Announcements---As read and on back
table. KID will be at 4-17-07 meeting
to address sewer problems and low water pressure.
