CERT Training

Taylorsville City, in cooperation with Unified Fire Authority, announces an upcoming CERT training course.

Classes will be on Saturday April 26th and Saturday May 3rd from 8:00am-5:00pm. Classes will be held at the Taylorsville City Hall Building located at 2600 West Taylorsville Blvd.

There will be a final disaster simulation drill as well on Saturday May 10th from 8:00am-1:00pm. The location will be announced at the class.

The classes are taught by experts from our fire department and help prepare and train volunteers with the necessary skills for helping others in times of disaster.

Come and learn to help your neighborhood be better prepared.

Topics taught during the class include:

• Disaster awareness
• Fire safety (including fire extinguisher use)
• Emergency medical skills
• Light search and rescue
• Psychology of disasters
• Emergency organizational skills

Cost: $30
(includes helmet, vest, first aid gear and textbook.)
(Participants will need to bring safety glasses, gloves, and sturdy work boots)

Grafitti Abatement

We have partnered with the Kearns Crime Prevention Association to eliminate graffiti and we helped sponsor the End Graff campaign conducted earlier this year.

If you see grafitti that needs cleaned up on public property call or to get paint to cover grafitti on private property call END-GRAF.
